a unique position
studio tbu sits over the river in the middle of macclesfield.
this position gives us a really nice view out of the window, fit for procrastination. but it is also a point of view to observe this environment day to day, from herons fishing and the flash of a kingfisher to unexplained and shortlived releases of pollutants.
a work in progress
while the river is without doubt cleaner and healthier than in industrial years past, there are still causes for concern, monitoring and action.
considerable pollution events in february 2023 and february 2024 went largely unexplained and without consequences for the perpetrators. local action groups, wildlife trusts, academics and united utilities are all committing energy and resources to an improved river environment.
action speaks loudest
we have come up with a 4-part plan for how we can best contribute to the general improvement of the river ecosystem. the first part of this plan we have already kicked off with clean-ups in our nearby vicinity. part 2 is next. parts 3 and 4 are funded and supported by the launch of the RBLI merch range.
